The Cooperage Project presents: Rising Notes – A Youth Music Circle

Date/Time: Sunday, February 23rd from 1-3pm

Location: Stoneworks Youth Center (directly behind the cooperage.)

Age Group: 8 – 18 year olds 

Cost: Free. Donations welcome at the door

Rising Notes offers an informal, friendly atmosphere where young instrumentalists can enjoy playing for and with each other. The monthly program will begin by inviting participants aged 8 through 18 to play a piece that they are working on. There is no pressure to perform. The goal is to provide plenty of performance opportunities, allowing local youth to develop their confidence and stage presence.

There will also be a jam session featuring folk and popular tunes that have tunes and chord progressions that are simple enough to be accessible to young players. The goal is to provide an opportunity to learn music in the traditional way, by playing alongside other musicians. Because participation is no longer the most common way to learn music, guidance will be offered to assist those who are unfamiliar with it.

Rising Notes will be a recurring program taking place at Stoneworks Youth Center from 1-3pm on the 4th Sunday of every month!
