Thank you for considering The Cooperage for your upcoming event! As a community hub, we regularly host many of our own programs and events – but we encourage community members and other organizations in need of an event space to consider how The Cooperage can meet your needs.

Unfortunately, there are a few events that we not able to accommodate in our spaces. The Cooperage Project reserves the right to refuse any rental that does not align with our nonprofit status or that we have found to not be an appropriate fit for the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, any events that are politically related or affiliated, as well as both wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions.
Our flexible use space can accommodate up to 130 people in our 2,600 sq ft main floor area, depending on the configuration of the space and the type of event. The space also includes a stage, which measures approximately 24 ft x 20 ft. We offer three single patron bathrooms, as well as a larger family restroom complete with changing table. Strollers, wheelchairs, and guests with other mobility aids may enter most easily from our side entrance.
We have a variety of table sizes and configurations available, along with chairs to seat up to 130 guests depending on the arrangement of the room and type of event. Our table selection includes both 6 and 8 foot long tables, square cafe tables, and high-top tables. Clients are responsible for providing all table coverings, paper goods, and decorations. (Please note that some exclusions apply regarding decorations.) A small selection of commonly needed kitchen tools and appliances are also available for use during your event.
We are pleased to offer a fully licensed kitchen, complete with a gas range and oven with a griddle top, however food preparation in the kitchen is limited to licensed and insured caterers only. Alternatively, you may bring in food that has been prepared off-site and reheat it if necessary. We do offer a commercial refrigerator to store food and drinks during your event, but many clients choose to bring their own coolers or beverage dispensers.
Clients are welcome to use our commercial coffee maker, and you will find an assortment of cooking and serving utensils in case you find that you forgot the cake knife! We do ask all clients to bring their own paper products (plates, cups, napkins, eating utensils, etc.), and that you please refrain from using any Styrofoam products. Please note: The Cooperage does not have a commercial dishwasher.
The Cooperage is BYOB-friendly. We are strong advocates of responsible drinking, and it is the responsibility of any patron or guest who brings alcoholic beverages onto the premises to do so in accordance with all applicable laws (federal, state, and local) and guidelines of the organization. Our full BYOB policy will be provided as part of our Rental Policies & Guidelines.
Please note: The sale of alcoholic beverages within The Cooperage or upon the grounds is strictly forbidden unless sales are carried out by a restaurant with an off-premise catering permit that includes the sale of alcohol.
Basic stage lighting is included in all rentals. Additional A/V items may be added to your rental package to meet a variety of needs, and professional sound + lighting is available at an additional cost:
The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main Street in beautiful, historic Honesdale PA. As an establishment located in the heart of the downtown area, we unfortunately do not have off-street parking. You will need to find street parking nearby. Most of this parking is metered parking, active Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Evening and Sunday parking is free.
