Contra Dance at The Cooperage!

  • When: Every 4th Saturday* (April – November)
  • Time: 7pm – 9pm |
    • beginner lesson 7pm – 7:15pm
    • dancing for all begins at 7:15pm

  • FREE | Suggested donation: $10 per person (kids under age 15 are FREE)
Grab your dancing shoes and head over to The Cooperage our monthly Contra Dance! Bring a partner or find a partner here. All are welcome to dance along to our live performers, no experience necessary, we’ll all be dancing together! Live music performed by CHERRY ORCHARD and others! Beginners are most welcome! Caller Laurie B. will do a beginner lesson starting at 7pm and the dancing will start at 7:15pm. 
 
What is contra dancing? Contra dance is a folk dance made up of long lines of couples. It has mixed origins from English country dance, Scottish, French dance styles in the 17th century, with strong African influence from Appalachia.
