- Assisting the Community Programs Coordinator at Senior Gatherings
- Assisting the Youth Programs Coordinator during Youth programs, especially Pop-Up Club and Coop Camps
- Greeting people at events / checking people in
- Hanging flyers
- Working in the Red Door Cafe for special events
- Helping staff on Maintenance and landscaping days
- Assisting the Outreach Coordinator with fundraising efforts

Volunteers make good things happen here!
Volunteers are invaluable members of our team at The Cooperage! Volunteers help our organization run smoothly in every facet of its operation from events to fundraising to building maintenance to kitchen help. As a nonprofit organization that serves the community, volunteers play an important role in capacity building of the organization by sharing their time and talent as well as spreading the word of our programs in their networks. We’re always looking for new community members to help further the mission of The Cooperage. Are you in?
Volunteer Activities (to name a few!):
Requirements to Volunteer
To be eligible to volunteer at The Cooperage Project in any capacity, one needs to:
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, unless other arrangements have been made with the Volunteer Coordinator.
- There are limited opportunities when a parent can volunteer with their child who is younger than 16, but only for certain tasks and only when prearranged with the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Complete The Cooperage Project’s Volunteer Application form
- Have no background of criminal history. All volunteers must send up-to-date copies of the following clearances to our Volunteer Coordinator:
- Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Criminal History Record Check (free for volunteers)
- Child Abuse History Certification (free for volunteers)
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Background Check
