Most of our programs would not be possible without collaboration with many other organizations, businesses, and individuals. There aren’t many events that take place here that we don’t partner with someone on. From the Mobile Market to the concerts to Pop-Up Club to Senior Meals – we rely on our community partnerships to make good things happen here at The Cooperage and beyond.
Upstairs at The Cooperage, we also have a community partner who calls our building home. Radio Catskill is public radio for The Catskills & Northeast Pennsylvania, and we are lucky to host their satellite radio station on the PA side of the Delaware River. Visit wjjffradio.org to find out how to donate or to volunteer. Listen on-air at 90.5 FM, online, on your smartphone with the WJFF app or on your smart speaker.
A broad, county-sponsored, community-based collaboration focused on the projects, resources, and infrastructure needed to move Wayne County, its people, its culture and its economy into a vibrant future.
The ecosystem model represents the way Wayne County does business. For every project, mission, client or organization, Wayne Tomorrow! engages all facets of success:
In June 2015 The Clean Energy Co-op applied for and was awarded a USDA Renewable Energy for America (REAP) grant to provide up to 25% of the funding for a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof of The Cooperage.
To come up with the remaining 75% of funds needed to complete the project, The Cooperage Project launched a private fundraising campaign and it was a huge success, with more committed funds than needed for the project.
The Solar PV system includes 90 solar panels and produces 100% or more of the annual electrical use in the building. The mounting of the solar panels uses the DynoRaxx system of ballast buckets to provide a 10 degree tilt and necessary spacing and requires no penetrations.
Buselli Solutions, a local family-owned and NABCEP-certified contractor, designed, installed and commissioned the system. Construction began on November 6, 2015 and was completed on December 7, 2015. PPL Utilities approved the system on December 10, 2015 and the system has been in commercial operations since December 17, 2015.
